One tiny little thing that would have been helpful is a notepad and pen. The hooks and bench by the door were handy. The suite was clean, we had a mini-fridge, pod coffee maker (real creamer would have been nice), and a safe. The shelves in the sink area are a bonus. Our room was huge, the bathroom was huge, and we had plenty of storage. Check in was easy and pleasant and we used a trolly to take our bags to where the hotel rooms are, which is a separate building from reception area.
Rush Creek Lodge is a beautiful property within minutes of the Big Oak Flat Yosemite entrance. I wanted to love this lodge, but for the price I paid I left disappointed. Overall, if we ever have the opportunity to visit Yosemite again we would probably stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge at almost 1/2 the price. Our last night and breakfast we went into Groveland to eat where the quality was better and lower prices. We ate 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the restaurant only because it is at minimum 20 minutes drive to the next closest option and we did not have that time to spend in a car. The restaurant was 5 star prices with 2 star quality and service. When I pay over $450/night at a resort I expect the restaurant to be 5star caliber. Once again, most hotels at the quarter of the price have blackout shades. The sun came up very early, 5:15am, while we were there and the sliding glass door had a curtain but not a blackout curtain. For the price we paid for our room I expect an upscale mattress and pillows. The lodge is a quick 5 minute drive to the Yosemite west entrance but be aware it’s another 45 minute drive to the valley floor. The rooms do not have tv’s but my son was excited to see the basket of games in the room.

There seemed to be plenty of free activities for families to do without doing those that cost extra even though we did not have time to take advantage of these. The room was clean and when we forgot to take off the do not disturb hanger they left a nice basket of linens to replenish the room. The rooms in the lodge had private balconies and we didn’t hear much noise around us which I appreciated. I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. We stayed at the Rush Creek Lodge for 3 nights for a vacation to Yosemite.
